Comments on this week’s report:

  • Most strategies are suffering month-to-date as a spike in interest rates caused both fixed income and equity securities to sell off.
  • Sector Rotation strategies suffered the most (month-to-date) as its very large weighting to technology and consumer discretionary sectors experienced larger declines.
  • Value orientated strategies experienced the best return (month-to-date) as investors fled to safer securities.
  • Despite momentum strategies performing relatively poor so far this month, they are still the best performing strategies so far this year.
